Description of the Arizona College Access Network (AzCAN)
The AzCAN is an organization of college access professionals dedicated to the expansion
and improvement of services to low-income, first-generation Arizonans to prepare for, plan,
transition and succeed in postsecondary education.
The goals of AzCAN include:
- encouraging active partiicpation of programs across Arizona
- building relationships with and among college access professionals statewide
- providing benefits to encourage participation which will improve program performance
- establishing standards of performance based upon current research and best practices
Members of the AzCAN will receive the following benefits:
- Listing in the statewide member directory available to the public
- Attend regional meetings highlighting best practices with no charge
- Develop collaborations in order to respond to a variety of funding issues
- Receive e-newsletters including updates on state and national issues
- Professional development opportunities (state and national) and conferences at a reduced fee
- Webinars on a variety of college access subjects
- Learn about fund development and program sustainability
- Partner and learn from other programs
- Share resource materials (ex: handouts, tool kits, etc.)
